The Sierra Club is a non-profit, member
supported public interest organization that promotes the conservation of the
natural environment by influencing public policy decisions - legislative,
administrative, legal, and electoral. It is infamous for successful lobbying.
They are responsible for many legislative, environmental achievments such as
protecting wildlife like the grey wolf of the California deserts and protecting
ecoregions such as the Pacific Northwest timber forests.
